Prototype Photos

Alco standard gauge engines - similar locos were built for narrow as well as broad gauge.  Both of these were built at the Cooke works for stock, meaning that they were standard designs built on speculation and later sold to buyers who came looking for something ready to run.

This 0-4-0 was built for spec by ALCO.  It was named after Horatio Brooks, founder of the Brooks Locomotive Works, one of the firms merged to create ALCO.
