Sausalito Shops

The main shops of the North Pacific Coast were located in Sausalito, California.  A number os structures graced the shop area.

This shot, taken in 1919 after the NPC was absorbed by the Northwestern Pacific shows the two stall engine house that served the narrow gauge portion of the line.

This photo shows the standard gauge engine house.  It is immediately to the right of the previous photo.  It is likely these two structures were constructed at approximately the same time.  That means this would have been a narrow gauge engine house before the turn of the century.

This photo is of the narrow gauge engine service facility.  The tracks in the foreground of the first photo of this series led to this structure.  Note that gallows turntable that provided switching to all four stalls.
