This paper was originally read to the Engineer's Club of Philadelphia, March 21, 1908. It was published by Burnham, Williams & Co. in 1908. There is no copyright notice on this work and a copy is in my personal possession. This material is presented in the belief that nobody's rights are being violated by sharing this material with the model railroad community.
