North Shore No 40 - Cab

The two modifications needed to the cab to make her more representative of the prototype are removal of the window panes from the side windows and conversion from a rounded cab roof to a peaked roof.

Because the running boards will ride higher on the boiler, they were removed from the assembly containing the cab floor and running boards.
The rounded portion of the roof was cut and filed to convert to a peaked roof.  In this photo, the front peak has been modified while the rear peak hasn't.  

The window panes have been removed from the front windows on both sides.
The floor from was painted black as well as the tender walls.  This shot shows the cab with the floor reattached to the cab.
